Dog Friendly Hotels in Rye

Finding a dog friendly hotel can sometimes be a challenge and with kennel costs as high as they are this can seriously impact the cost of going away.  At Rye Lodge we love dogs and your four legged friend can be assured of a warm welcome.

Our Courtyard rooms at Rye Lodge Hotel are particularly dog friendly.  They are located on the lower ground floor with direct access to the private car park.  The rooms all feature French windows which make them very popular with guests travelling with their dogs.

Dogs on the beach

Dogs love the beach at Camber Sands

There are some amazing walks very close to the hotel so your dog is just as likely to have a wonderful short break as you are!

Directly opposite the hotel is the Rye Salts which is a huge expanse of marsh land with a public footpath running through it.  The Salts are home to the famous Romney Marsh sheep so if your dog isn’t sheep friendly a lead should be used.

A short stroll from the hotel is the Royal Military Canal.  This waterway stretches for about 6 miles between Rye and the village of Appledore and is ideal for dogs who prefer a longer walk.  There are a couple of dog friendly pubs in the village which could make a very pleasant lunch stop.

For dogs that prefer the beach Camber Sands is the ideal walk.  Camber is about 3 miles away by car and is a huge expanse of sand and sand dunes.  The best time for dogs is at low tide but restrictions on dogs do apply in the summer months so it is worth checking first.

As well as the walks listed above there are many more including Rye Bay Nature Reserve, Winchelsea Beach and Camber Castle to name but a few.

For more dog friendly walks please contact the hotel reception.
