Special Events and Themed Breaks
Although you will find plenty to see and do in our historic Cinque Port town, we know that sometimes our guests like to enjoy a break with a special interest theme.
Rye Lodge regularly hosts a programme of themed breaks. These Special Events include Wine tasting and Champagne tasting and appreciation with illustrated talks by Kerry de Courcy - well versed in the history and production of Champagne.
Our History Breaks include excursions to important local places such as Dover Castle, with its secret wartime tunnels, Leeds Castle Brighton Pavillion and many of the South East's premier Stately Homes.

Motherís Day - Sunday 10th March 2013
Make it a special day at Rye Lodge Hotel in the elegant town of Rye, with its cobbled medieval streets, boutiques and galleries followed by an afternoon tea in the lounge at Rye Lodge.
Enjoy a Cream Tea which includes two scones, clotted cream, preserves, a slice of homemade fruit cake and a cupcake together with tea or coffee and biscuits, at £7.95 per person, or for something really special add a glass of Champagne at £15.75 per person, or add sandwiches as well at £19.95 per person.
Motherís day Break
To really show your appreciation, why not treat mum to a few days of total relaxation! Enjoy a glass of Champagne on arrival and fruit flowers and chocolates in your room! Afternoon tea at a time to suit you, and we will book a table for you at one of Ryeís renowned restaurants and take you there by classic Rolls Royce! The special rate for this would be £175 for a standard room, £195.00 for a classic room or £225.00 for a superior de luxe room per night to include full English breakfast, dinner, and afternoon tea. If you wanted to book extra nights they would be on our short break terms and this offer is available between Sunday 3rd March and Thursday 14th March (except Saturday 10th March).

Mary Rose Lecture Dinners

Enjoy an educational and entertaining evening that begins with the sabraging of a bottle of Champagne - a centuries old tradition in which the bottle is decapitated with a sword. Kerry de Courcy will then present a facinating account of the building, loss and recovery from the sea of King Henry VIII's flagship The Mary Rose, made particularly poignent by Kerry's personal links with the Mary Rose Trust.
Find out about the champagne specially produced for the raising of the ship, how disaster was narrowly avoided and learn how the Trust has continues to work on this national treasure, with a new museum soon to open in Portsmouth.
Afterwards you will enjoy a delcious dinner with specially selected fine wines.
Dinner guests may take advantage of special room rates to extend their evening into a relaxing short break in the heart of historic Rye.

Celebrate with ‘Sabrage ’ at Rye Lodge
Make your birthday or anniversary celebration really special with a demonstration of Sabrage - the ancient tradition in which a bottle of Champagne is decapitated with a sword! Aa a Caveaux de Sabrage, Rye Lodge offers selected members of your party the chance to become a Sabreuer themselves, and recieve a certificate to mark the occasion.

A Sabrage evening makes a wonderful corporate entertainment, or the central event of a themed weekend for a larger group of guests. Gala Dinners, wine tasting and appreciation and gourmet cookery demonstrations can be added to your Sabrage weekend, dining at the best of Rye's famous restaurants as well as being pampered at Rye Lodge. Groups may book the Sabrage evening only or Sabrage and accommodation for one or more nights. Further themed activities and excursions can be added to create a unique short break.

Our Churchillian Interlude is a very special all inclusive two night break. You will enjoy a Champagne reception with a presentation on the history and production of Champagne with Champagne tasting.
We will visit Chartwell, Sir Winston’s country home where we will enjoy pre-lunch drinks and lunch with wine in the Mulberry Room followed by a private talk on Chartwell. (Transport and admission to Chartwell are included in your break).

A Champagne Break in Style
'A Celebration of Champagne' offers guests a chance to learn something of the history of Champagne, how it is made, and taste some of the world’s finest champagnes whilst being entertained with anecdotes about the world famous makers and some of their even more famous customers!
A fascinating illustrated talk is hosted by Kerry de Courcy - well versed in the history and production of Champagne. You will visit a vineyard and enjoy a Champagne Gala Dinner.
Enjoy all of the facilities at Rye Lodge, with time to explore the ancient streets of Rye at your leisure.
Champane Celebration Breaks are held two or three times a year in the Autumn and Spring and are usually attended by about twenty guests. However, they can also be arranged for private groups of four, six or more people at any time by arrangement - so if you would like to enjoy a Champagne Break at any time of the year - phone us on 01797 223838 and there may well be other people who would like to join with you for a small select party.

Rye Lodge Special Events are very popular, however, in the unusual circumstance that an event is insufficiently well booked to be viable, Rye Lodge Hotel reserves the right to cancel any Special Event up to 14 days prior to the date of arrival. Should an event cancellation be necessary guests already booked will be informed by telephone, with confirmation in writing, and may choose either to receive a full refund or to enjoy a stay with us at Rye Lodge at the best value tariff applicable for the room and dates booked with a complimentary upgrade to the best room available subject to hotel occupancy.
